Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Monke Game (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles your information when you use our mobile applications on iOS and Android, and when you visit our website at staymonke.com.

Data Collection and Use

We do not require you to create an account to use the app. By default, we do not collect or store any personal information such as your name, email, or phone number.

However, we do collect anonymous usage data to help us understand how the app is used and to improve your experience. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally.

Optional Discord Account Linking

You may choose to link your Discord account to enable cloud saving and sync your game progress across devices. This feature is entirely optional. If you choose to link your account, we collect and store your Discord user ID and username to associate your game progress with your account. Your game progress data is stored securely on our servers to enable syncing.

You can disconnect your Discord account at any time through the app settings. Upon disconnection, you may choose to delete your synced data from our servers.

Our Website

The website at staymonke.com uses no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies. Two features on it involve data, and both are optional:

Android waitlist: if you choose to join, we store the email address you enter so we can tell you once when the Android app launches, and send you a single confirmation email at signup. We do not use it for anything else, we do not share or sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing us.
Mini-game leaderboard: if you get a top-ten score in the game on our homepage and choose to submit it, we store the display name you type and your score. Use a nickname — whatever you enter is shown publicly. No account, email or personal detail is required to play or to appear on the leaderboard.

To stop automated abuse of these two forms, our servers count recent submissions against a salted, irreversible hash of your IP address. We do not store the IP address itself, and these counters are deleted automatically after a day. Your browser also stores your personal high score and chosen name locally on your own device; that data never leaves your browser unless you submit a score.

Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to help us operate and improve the app. These services may collect information used to identify your device anonymously.

RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage and validate subscriptions.
Mixpanel: We use Mixpanel to analyze user behavior and track key events to improve the app experience.
Supabase: We use Supabase to store and sync game progress data for users who opt into Discord account linking, to process MonkAI chat requests, and to hold the website’s Android waitlist and mini-game leaderboard.
Discord: We use Discord’s OAuth service to authenticate users who choose to link their accounts for cloud saving functionality.
Resend: We use Resend to send the confirmation email to people who join the Android waitlist.

Data Retention

For users who do not link a Discord account, we do not retain any user data on our servers. Subscription data is managed entirely through the Apple App Store, Google Play and RevenueCat.

For users who link a Discord account, we retain your Discord user ID, username, and game progress data for as long as your account remains linked. You may request deletion of this data at any time by disconnecting your account or contacting us directly.

Android waitlist emails are kept until the Android app has launched and we have sent the launch notification, after which the list is deleted. Leaderboard entries (a display name and a score) are kept until we reset the leaderboard. You may request deletion of either at any time by emailing us.

Children’s Privacy

Our application does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
